SEAL / SEALP accelerated learning streams: frequently asked
What is a SEAL program?
Select Entry Accelerated Learning (SEAL, also SEALP) is an accelerated stream offered from Year 7 in about 40 Victorian government schools. It's the closest Victorian equivalent to a NSW partially selective intake.
When is the SEAL entrance exam sat?
In Year 6, for Year 7 entry. Each school runs its own entrance exam, most commonly through EduTest®, typically in a July–November window.
Do I have to apply to each school separately?
Yes — SEAL entry is per-school. Each school sets its own test, date and fee (around $99–100), and most require a confirmed Year 7 mainstream placement first.
Which test provider is used?
Most SEAL schools use EduTest®; some use ACER® HAST. Always confirm the provider and format with the specific school before you prepare.
