How SmartPrep helps today
- The NSW curriculum maps directly to the ACER® assessment — Reading, Writing and Mathematics.
- Our Thinking Skills modules build the reasoning foundations behind the Abstract Reasoning paper (figural item types need a customised bank, coming soon).
- Because you sit once, disciplined timed practice matters — our exam-condition mode builds that.
Customised Ignite practice is coming soon. The NSW curriculum is a strong way to get underway — Reading, Writing and Mathematics map directly to the ACER® assessment, and Thinking Skills builds the reasoning foundations behind the Abstract Reasoning paper.

SA's Ignite Program: frequently asked
What is the Ignite Program?
Ignite (formerly SHIP) is South Australia's accelerated-learning program, offered at Glenunga International, The Heights and Aberfoyle Park. It's an acceleration model — Years 8–10 compressed into two years — with Year 7 entry, not a set of separate selective schools.
When and how do you sit the Ignite assessment?
In Year 6, in late February, via an ACER® (HAST-based) assessment registered through the ACER® portal from around November. Year 5 students sitting early need a principal's letter.
Can I sit at more than one school?
No — you sit once, at one school only. That makes your first preference more decisive in SA than in any other state, so choose carefully.
What do the components cover?
Reading, Writing, Mathematics and Abstract Reasoning. Your rank determines which stream you enter (compacted/accelerated vs broad).
